And sometimes you get lucky: Police recover 5 stolen cars

The National Police has recovered five cars that had been stolen from their legitimate owners. These vehicles include a Ford Explorer, a Rexton SUV, and three cars, a Honda Accord, a Hyundai Sonata and a BYD (Chinese) 2011 model.

As reported by the Police, the vehicles stories are:
The Ford Explorer was recovered in the Nuevo Amaecer sector of East Santo Domingo, at the home of a man who said that the owner had failed to live up to a business agreement and had given him the vehicle, according to the Police report.

The Rexton SUV, owned by an American who lives in Juan Dolio, was left abandoned in Andres, Boca Chica, by four men that had stolen it. The occupants of the vehicle ran away when they noticed the presence of a police patrol. Shots were fired without any injuries.

The Honda Accord was turned in voluntarily by a person from Alma Rosa, in East Santo Domingo, who said that the owner of the car had left it as a guarantee for payment in relation to another accident.

The Hyundai Sonata was also recovered voluntarily, from a man who said that he had bought it two years ago from a car rental agency that went bankrupt.

The BYD was stopped by a police patrol and the driver arrested and sent to the Justice Department for processing.
