Actor and producer Noel Ventura is producing the First Comic Theater Festival at the Teatro Guloya. Teatro Guloya is an Off-Broadway style small theater located on Arzobispo Portes Street in the Colonial City.
Ventura says the first year of the festival is dedicated to promoting more women entering the field of comedy. He said men and women can both make good comedy. The festival opened with “Circulo Violeta,” from 16-18 August 2019.
It continues with “Tartufo,” from 23-25 August 2019. On 30 August to 1 September, “75 puñaladas.”
Tickets are RD$300. Showings are Friday and Saturday at 8:30pm and Sundays at 6:30pm.
