The Dominican Armada arrested 13 on Sunday 18 August 2019. They are charged with attempting to travel illegally to Puerto Rico in two boats that were discovered in Macao, Higuey and El Valle in Samana.
All of those arrested were taken to the Head Office of Naval Intelligence in Santo Domingo for interrogation.
In another operation, naval units rescued four Venezuelan citizens who were found off the coast of Catalina island in a boat.
