Lidio Cadet of the National Electoral Commission of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) says they have received no official complaints that PLD pre-candidate Gonzalo Castillo is using state resources for his campaign. The accusation was made by senator Reinaldo Pared Perez (PLD-National District) when he announced he is retiring from running as a pre-candidate. Pared Pérez is president of the Senate.
Speaking about Pared Perez’s resignation as a pre-candidate, Cadet said he regrets the decision but that each person is free to take actions according to their own objectives.
According to Lidio Cadet, president of the commission, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) is aware of the allegations and would act accordingly.
