Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas presented the Dominican Chamber of Commerce for Middle East and North Africa (DoMENACham) during an event held on 2 September 2019 at the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Vargas explained the chamber will affiliate potential investment and trade partners from those countries. The Ministry of Foreign Relations is encouraging Dominican embassies in Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco and Turkey to increase efforts to strengthen ties. He wants to see gold, cigar, electronic devices, and farm exports to those countries soon.
Vargas said the DoMENACham will play a key role in helping to organize Dominican Weeks in those countries to motivate more trade and business.
Key persons behind the new chamber of commerce are Mustafa Abu Naba’a and Dominican ambassador in Qatar, Federico Cuello.
