
A 62-member Dominican army, navy and air force unit arrived in Abaco Island in the Bahamas on Monday, 16 September 2019 to integrate with Bahamas teams and assist in Hurricane Dorian relief operations. The crews arrived with equipment to assist in the removal of debris and with 34.4 tons of food and supplies for the population.
On the mission are 33 members of the Army’s Humanitarian and Rescue Unit (UHR-ERD) and the Air Force’s Search and Rescue Squadron. Staff from the Social Assistance Plan of the Presidency is also part of the humanitarian mission.
