Baltazar Mesa and Jesus Tapia Perez were extradited to the United States on Tuesday, 17 September 2019. US Marshals were in the Dominican Republic on Monday for the completion of the procedure. The two are accused of being part of the Cesar Emilio Peralta Drug Trafficking Operation. Both had voluntarily turned themselves in and requested the extradition rather than be tried by the Dominican justice.
