The Ministry of Public Works has restarted construction works of the Mirador del Este Bus Terminal in eastern Santo Domingo. Two rulings from the Administrative Superior Court (TSA) had ordered a stop to the construction. Several activists from eastern Santo Domingo oppose the development on grounds belonging to the Parque Mirador del Este.
The Ministry of Public Works began construction of the terminal without the land or environmental impact studies as required by the Environmental Law 64-00. Opponents also say the structure violates National District and Santo Domingo Municipal Law 176-07.
