President Danilo Medina is in New York City for the opening ceremonies of the 74th General Assembly of the United Nations Organization on Tuesday, 24 September 2019. Besides attending the opening ceremonies of the Assembly, Medina will also hold bilateral meetings and political get-togethers with party members in the Big Apple. This is the second time that the President attends the opening of the General Assembly since the Dominican Republic was seated as a Non-Permanent Member of the Security Council.
