Big quake off the DR’s northeastern coast

The Seismological Institute of the state Santo Domingo Autonomous University (UASD) reported a 5.9 magnitude on the Richter Scale earthquake on Monday, 23 September 2019 at 11:23pm. The earthquake’s epicenter was 215 km off the eastern coast of Miches, to the northwest of Puerto Rico. The quake was felt in Puerto Rico. Significant damages have not been reported.

The United States Geological Service reported that a first 6.0 earthquake was felt 62km NNW of San Antonio, Puerto Rico at 11:23pm, followed up by a 5.1 earthquake 54km NNW of San Antonio, Puerto Rico. Around 30 small replicas followed.
