
Continuous monitoring of tropical storms as they move through our area is a must. For now, tropical storms Karen and Lorenzo are continuing on northern tracks. Puerto Rico is receiving heavy rainfall from TS Karen. But the Dominican Republic is well off its path.
Tropical Storm Karen is forecast to be well into the Atlantic Ocean by Wednesday, 25 September. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Lorenzo is also taking a firm north track deep into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Meanwhile, the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) says weather conditions are still in place to produce heavy rain in the northeast, southeast, sout west, central mountain area and the border zones of the Dominican Republic.
September is the peak month for hurricanes hitting the Dominican Republic.
