President Danilo Medina did not travel to New York City to attend the 74th UN General Assembly. Medina had been a regular at the event during his Presidency. The Presidency did not give a reason why. The Dominican Republic is a member of the UN Security Council. Foreign Minister Miguel Maldonado traveled to New York for the event.
