Business says hard currency fluctuation is seasonal

The executive vice president of the National Business Council, Cesar Dargam attributed the recent slide in the Dominican peso to foreign currency primarily to seasonal fluctuations. He said these are months when businesses restock inventory for the Christmas season. He said he is confident recent measures taken by the monetary authorities will contribute to more stability in the exchange rates. The Central Bank injected US$50 million into the banking system after the rate reached RD$52 to US$1.
