Forever 21 stores in DR could hang on

The Forever 21 stores in the Dominican Republic could circumvent the financial difficulties of the chain and remain open. As reported in Listín Diario, the staff at the two Forever 21 stores located at Agora Mall and Megacentro in eastern Santo Domingo say these are open and operating normally. Forever 21 has announced the shutdown of 350 of its stores all around the world, including 178 in the United States.

The company filed for bankruptcy on 30 September 2019. It says it has 549 stores in the United States and 251 locations internationally. The planned closures are about a third of Forever 21’s fleet of stores in the United States. The list of stores to be closed includes the store in Puerto Rico.
