IDB Micro Business Forum in Punta Cana

The Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) announced the Interamerican Micro Business Forum (Foromic 2019) will take place 30 October and 1 November at the Hotel Paradisus Palma Real Golf & Spa Resort in Punta Cana. The theme is “Reinventing Inclusion.” During the event, speakers will focus on creative digital solutions and new business models for better lives.

“This event is the main platform for connections between innovators, global and local actors seeking to solve the problems of inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean,” the institution said in a statement.

The forum, organized by the IDB and led by the innovation laboratory of the multilateral organization, brings together financial institutions, companies, creative and innovative throughout the region to analyze how innovation, driven by emerging technologies and disruptive business models, is transforming inclusion in financial services, entrepreneurship and the future of work.

This year’s forum, which will feature IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno, will revolve around three issues: new finance, transforming business and better lives.

“This year at Foromic the cross-cutting themes will be sustainable tourism and resilience, digital transformation and gender aspects, with special attention to the relevance of these issues in the Dominican Republic, and the environment of small and island countries,” the organization added.
