
The Dominican Republic’s Women’s national football team won second place in the Caribbean qualifiers for the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship, held in Trinidad. This means the national team for the first time gets to compete in next year’s CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament. Trinidad & Tobago won first place. The Dominican team only lost to Trinidad & Tobago in the tournament.
Media coverage on the event highlighted the competitive level of the Dominican team. No team was able to score against the Dominican women.
