
Congo became the 9th African nation with which the Dominican Republic now has diplomatic relations. Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas met with the Congo ambassador of Cuba in the Dominican Republic, Rosalie Kama-Niamayoua for the signing of the agreement. Vargas spoke of the mutual benefit to explore cooperation in trade, investment, culture and sport.
He expressed his appreciation for Congo for its vote that enabled the Dominican Republic to become a member of the non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
