The Central Electoral Board (JCE) announced on Saturday, 19 October 2019 that the voting list for 2020 has closed with 7,497,040 eligible voters. Of these, 3,828,786 are women and 3,658,254 are men.
But the JCE says that by May 2020, the number will have increased to 7,505,507 as young men and women reach the 18-year old voting age. This will be 10.66% more eligible voters than in the May 2016 elections.
The JCE announced that of the total 589,497 voters are eligible to vote abroad. This is 320,587 women and 268,910 men. This is up from 384,526 voters for the general election in 2020.
