Santiago and other Cibao provinces have been suffering from an increase in blackouts. Edenorte, the power distribution company, issued a press release to explain these. In the meantime, complaints have been increasing about the constant power outages, especially in the southern part of Santiago.
The company states that there was an overload in the transmission network and that technicians from the Dominican Electrical Transmission Company (ETED) are working on the problem.
In addition, in September, several generating plants were out of service, affecting service in the 14 provinces that make up the Cibao area.
