Country Alliance (Alianza País) elected Guillermo Moreno as its presidential candidate for the May 2020 election during its National Convention of Delegates held at the Narciso González Cultural Center.
Thanking delegates, Guillermo Moreno expressed his commitment to oust the PLD from government. “I assume this new responsibility with a clear awareness of the need to work with determination to remove the PLD from power and make democratic change,” he said.
He also declared that Alianza País is the only option that guarantees justice and security in the country.
“Alianza País is the only truly alternative option, with the will and conviction to make the necessary reforms and transformations to guarantee an independent justice, the punishment of corruption, end impunity and to lead the Dominican Republic to become a fair, productive, prosperous and sovereign country,” Moreno told dozens of his followers.
