The Ministry of Hacienda has seized over 19,000 pieces of illegal gaming devices from business nationwide. Most of the devices are old-fashioned one-armed bandits. The slot machines were operating in colmados, sports betting parlors and lottery sales points all over the DR. Most of the equipment was seized in Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago, La Vega, Puerto Plata, San Cristóbal and San Pedro de Macorís.
The Casinos and Games of Chance Agency said that they have seized 19,889 gaming equipment devices. Of the 19,889 pieces of equipment seized, over 8,000 have been destroyed so far this year.
