
Industry & Commerce Minister Nelson Toca Simó said in London that this is the best time for UK companies to invest in the Dominican Republic. He spoke when participating in the “How To Do Business in the Dominican Republic Forum” during the celebration of the 8th annual Dominican Week in the United Kingdom. Minister Toca Simó said that UK companies should take advantage of a bilateral agreement that keeps the European Union tax preferences even with the enacting of Brexit. He also highlighted the favorable macroeconomic conditions in the Dominican Republic.
“This is the best time to invest in the Dominican Republic. We are constantly working to improve investment facilities with other countries to consolidate our nation as the Caribbean Hub,” said Minister Toca.
Others that participated in the panel were Manuel Luna Sued, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Santo Domingo; Dominican ambassador to the UK Hugo Guilliani; UK ambassador Chris Campbell and the president of the British Chamber of Commerce in the Dominican Republic, Leonel Melo.
