The open waters swimming community will be gathering for the Sunday, 24 November 2019 swim in the waters of Salinas in Peravia province (Baní). The Hotel Salinas at Punta Salinas de Puerto Hermoso is the starting point for the Reto Salinas 2019. The distances are 500 meters, 2 km and 5 km. The beach is about an hour west of Santo Domingo. The event is organized by Tiburones Mako Masters of AquasaludRD and has the backing of the Masters Swimming in the Dominican Republic and the Dominican Swimming Federation.
There will be awards for the categories 5 km (34 and less and 35 and more), 2 km (24 and less, 25-34, 35-44, 45-55, 55+) and 500 m (open).
The Hotel Salinas, host of the event, is offering a reduced lodging rate for those staying the weekend of 22 to 24 November 2019.
Registration is RD$1,350 for each swim. Swimmers are only allowed to participate in one distance.
