New block of deputies for the Force of the People party

Around 27 deputies have now formally announced that they are resigning from the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD). The deputies say the party has lost the essence of its founder, Professor Juan Bosch.

They are leaving to join the man they say is Bosch’s best disciple, Leonel Fernandez. The deputies will conform a new legislative block in the Chamber of Deputies, that of The Force of the People (La Fuerza del Pueblo).

Those who have resigned from the PLD are: Adalgisa Fátima Pujols, Alfredo Antonio Rodríguez, Altagracia Mercedes González, Catalina Paredes Pinales, Demóstenes W. Martínez H., Francisco Arturo Bautista, Francisco Antonio Mancebo Melo, Gilda Mercedes Moronta Guzmán, Henry Modesto Merán Gil, Johanny Mercedes Guzmán R., José Luis Cosme Mercedes, Josefina Tamarez, Juan Andrés Comprés Brito and Juan Carlos Quiñones Minaya. In addition, Levis Suriel Gómez, Manuel Orlando Espinosa Medina, Marcos Genaro Cross, Mariano Montero Vallejo, Nancy Altagracia Santos, Noris Elizabeth Medina Medina, Pedro Billilo Mota, Pedro Juan Rodríguez M., Roberto Arturo Berroa E., Rubén Darío Maldonado Díaz, Yuderka de la Rosa, Elvin Antonio Fulgencio and Rosa Iris Guzmán Rodríguez.
