118 million impressions for Camacho corruption challenge

The hashtag #CamachoCorruptoChallange reached 118 million impressions on Twitter in three days. An impression on Twitter is a total tally of all the times the Tweet has been seen. The Tweet originated after the imprisonment of 32-year old professional Máximo Eladio Romero Marcial had a clash of words with the president of the Chamber of Deputies Radhamés Camacho at the Quisqueya Ballpark on Sunday, 28 October 2019 and would be arrested when he left the stadium.

The trends #CamachoCorrupto, #CamachoLadrón, #CamachoCorruptoChallenge and #CamachoEsCorrupto got more than 6,794 users of that social network to write 24,884 tweets about the altercation that has monopolized all Dominican media since October 27.

Social network analyst Pavel De Camps reported that the economic value of this trend exceeds US$191,616.21. He explained this would be what a company or institution would have had to pay to get that kind of reach.

During the Tigres del Licey vs. Leones del Escogido game at the Quisqueya Ball Park, fan Romero Marcial had shouted out to the president of the Chamber of Deputies to to buy him and his friend two beers with the same money that belonged to the public treasury that Camacho had used to purchase an expensive bottle of whiskey.

Upon leaving the stadium, police arrested Romero Marcial who would not be released until the next day. The arrest provoked innumerable reactions in social media.
