The founder of Plaza Lama, Mario Lama died on Wednesday, 30 October 2019. He was 89 years old. The wake will be held at the Blandino Funeral Home at Av. Abraham Lincoln. He was born in San Pedro de Macorís in 1930 and worked at the shoe store of his parents that he would later diversify into a mega store selling everything from shoes to food, clothing, appliances and electronics that employs upwards of 4,000 people nationwide.
