Guiby is the name given to a turtle that has been attempting to lay eggs at Guibia. Local environmentalists tagged the turtle seven years ago and she has been followed as she wanders throughout the Caribbean. The turtle is of the Eretmochelys imbricate) species and is in danger of extinction.
The story of the turtle is told in a documentary, “Cacú, un cambio por la vida,” that tells the story of turtle predators that have become environmental conservation activists.
Diario Libre made the documentary. The documentary is being shown at Palacio del Cine at Agora Mall from 1 to 4 November 2019 at 5pm at the Hall 3.
