
President Danilo Medina on 29 October 2019 received a courtesy visit from US Department of State Deputy Assistant Secretary Cindy Kierscht. She is in charge of Canada, Haiti and the Caribbean in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs of the US Department of State. She was accompanied on the visit by US Ambassador Robin Bernstein and the US Embassy Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs Katharine Beamer.
Present for the meeting were Foreign Affairs Minister Miguel Vargas Maldonado, Presidency Minister Gustavo Montalvo, and legal advisor to the Executive Branch, Flavio Darío Espinal.
Diario Libre reports that the US State Department officer came to hear President Medina’s opinion on Venezuela and Haiti, and to discuss investments in the Dominican Republic.
