The Supreme Court of Justice has handed down preventive custody to Jeifry del Rosario Gautier, son of the convicted drug dealer Ramón Antonio del Rosario Puente (“Toño Leña”) and said he was one of the main heads of drug dealing networks operating in the Dominican Republic. He will be held in custody until a 3 December hearing is held on extraditing him to the United States. In the meantime, he will be held in custody at Najayo Jail.
Jeifry del Rosario Gautier was said by the Attorney General’s office to be one of the supposed heads of the band headed up by the fugitive, César Emilio Peralta, along with Baltazar Mesa, Sergio Gómez Díaz and José Jesús Tapia Pérez. They are all wanted for extradition to the United States.
