Felipe López Calva of UNDP visits for social policies conference

President Danilo Medina received Luis Felipe Calva, regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), at the Presidential Palace. Present for the meeting was Vice President Margarita Cedeño and the resident coordinator of the United Nations (UN) in the country, Mauricio Ramirez.

Calva came to participate in the International Forum on Innovation for Sustainable Development: A New Generation of Social Policies, an event set for 13-14 November 2019 at the Hotel El Embajador in Santo Domingo. The event is coordinated by the Vice Presidency of the Republic. It aims to find tools that contribute to improve the living conditions of more than 850,000 families that benefit from government social programs.

Cedeño was recognized by UNDP for innovation and transparency in the poverty reduction programs under her responsibility.
