The Attorney General’s Office has informed that the Superior Board of the Public Prosecution Agency has dismissed the suspended head prosecutor of Barahona, Yván Ariel Gómez Rubio, who is under investigation for supposedly committing serious errors while carrying out his work.
Gómez Rubio was under investigation for supposedly committing irregularities during a drug related case. The office stated that the decision was notified to Gomez Rubio and the Public Prosecution Service.
Initially Gomez Rubio was suspended at the beginning of the year while an investigation was carried out. His position has been taken on an interim basis by Wellington A. Matos Espinal.
