
Foreign Minister Miguel Vargas announces the Dominican Republic will host the 28th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government in 2022. The Summit brings together heads of state and government from the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries of Europe and the Americas. Vargas made the announcement when attending the Iberoamerican meeting of foreign ministers held in Soldeu, Andorra.
The event is the highest body of the Ibero-American Conference that meets to confirm agreements reached during the meetings of the foreign affairs ministers, the network’s national coordinators and heads of cooperation, as well as by the sector ministerial meetings at the IberoAmerican Conference.
In November 2020, the Dominican Republic will take over the pro tempore secretary of the Ibero-American Conference.
