
The Customs Agency (DGA) announced that the import Christmas tax exemption is in effect beginning on 1 December 2019 through 7 January 2020. The exception allows Dominicans that live abroad and return to visit family and friends for the Christmas holidays to bring gifts worth up to US$3,000 for the holidays. The ex-pats need to be able to prove they have not visited over the past six months.
