The Ministry of Foreign Relations (Mirex) announced the Dominican Republic is participating in the World Youth Forum, which takes place in Egypt from 29 November to 16 December. This is a first time a Dominican delegation participates. The main themes of the event are peace, creativity, and social, economic and sustainable development.
The announcement was made by Kathleen Martinez, counsellor minister at the Dominican Embassy in Egypt.
Works from Dominican artists will be displayed, including several by sculptor Juan Trinidad.
The World Youth Forum has been celebrated since 2017, and the initiative of the Egyptian government is to unite hundreds of young people with a message of peace and progress as well as to promote an exchange of ideas, which can be developed by public and private enterprise to help youth throughout the world.
