US ambassador celebrates arrest of Cesar El Abusador

US Ambassador Robin Bernstein celebrated the capture of drug trafficker César Emilio Peralta (aka César the Abuser), as reported in Diario Libre. After meeting with the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Henry Molina, the US ambassador declared that, so far, she did not know the exact date on which the Abuser will be extradited from Colombia. Bernstein said she is very grateful to the Dominican, Colombian and US forces for the work done to capture the drug trafficker.

“This is an important achievement for us because it marks the beginning of a collaboration between both nations to attack the scourge of drug trafficking,” she said. She also congratulated officials from the Dominican Republic, Colombia and the United States, who put their daily lives at risk, for the work done during the operation to capture Peralta.

César Emilio Peralta allegedly arrived in Cartagena on Friday, 29 November, via a private dock, on a yacht from a Caribbean island that the authorities have not identified. He was captured Monday, 2 December 2019 in Cartagena, Colombia.

The ambassador said she met with the president of the Supreme Court to discuss a forward-looking plan in which both nations can work together to create best practices within the judicial system.
