
The Senate passed two bills to increase financing for the electricity sector. One is with the Inter American Development Bank (IDB) submitted by the Executive Branch for US$400 million and another with the OPEC Fund for International Development (IFID) for US$75 million. A third loan passed by the Senate is for US$50 million with the European Investment Bank to finance public works to mitigate disasters. The fourth financing for EUR$88 million is to expand the capacity of the Santo Domingo Metro. The funding is with the France Development Agency (AFD).
