The Toros del Este, the La Romana team, became the first in Dominican Winter Professional Baseball to qualify for the four-best round-robin to be played at the close of the regular season. With the last game scheduled for Tuesday, 17 December, the Leones del Escogido, Tigres del Licey and Aguilas Cibaeñas seem most likely to make the playoffs. The defending champion team, the Estrellas Orientales and the Gigantes del Cibao need to win all their next games to make it.
