The defending champions of the Dominican Professional Winter Baseball Championship, the Estrellas Orientales had a string of victories but these were not enough to move to the semi-finals. The Aguilas Cibaeñas defeated the Estrellas 5-3 despite a full house of fans present at their home stadium, the Tetelo Vargas in San Pedro de Macoris at 7:30pm on Monday, 16 December 2019.

The top four teams are scheduled to play the round-robin starting Thursday, 19 December 2019. The round-robin could end on 13 January 2020. The playoffs then will begin to decide the Dominican team that will play in the Caribbean Series set for the second week of February in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
