
The first reading of the National Budget received the majority vote in the Chamber of Deputies. The National Budget was submitted by the Executive Branch and had passed in its entirety earlier in the Senate.
On Tuesday, 17 December 2019, the vote was 99 votes in favor and only five against. The deputies voting against were Ines Brayn, Jose Morel, Rogelio Alfonso Genao Lanza (PRSC), Fidel Santana (Frente Amplio) and Betzaida Rodriguez (PQDC). 58 deputies abstained from voting. The National Budget could be approved on Wednesday, 18 December if a yes vote is received in that session.
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Radhames Camacho did not allow deputies to speak on the National Budget bill during the session called for the passing of the first reading.
