Expect the biggest campaigning activities for the 16 February 2020 municipal elections to take place in eleven of 158 municipalities. Together these municipalities account for 51.38% of all voters. The Central Electoral Board (JCE) says there are 7.4 million eligible voters.

San Pedro de Macorís 159,251
Electoral experts say that the outcome of those elections will have a marked influence on the presidential and congressional elections that are scheduled to follow in May 2020.
