Young voters are majority for 2020 elections

Dominicans ages 18 to 30 years old dominate the Central Electoral Board (JCE) registered voting list for the February 2020 municipal election. The statistical breakdown released by the JCE indicates that this population segment is 29.5% of total voters. Voters 18 to 25 years are 1,327,720, while those from 26 to 30 are 889,516.

The next segment is made up of voters in the ages 31 to 36 years, for 20% of those able to vote in 2020. These people total 1,516,024.

18.07% of the voters are people between the ages of 41 and 50, or 1,356,662 voters. Those 51 to 60 represent 1,125,269 or 15% of the total voters. And those 61 to 70 years old are 1,271,839 or 17% of the voters.
