
Dr. Ramón Leonel Ureña, director of the Program for the Reduction of Mortality in Traffic Accidents (Premat) of the Ministry of Public Health shared the main reasons behind road traffic injuries and deaths.
He says these are speeding, alcohol consumption, not using a seat belt, lack of use or misuse of the child seat, and motorcycle drivers not using a protective helmet.
Dr. Ureña drew the population’s attention to the need to act with restraint and respect traffic laws to avoid unfortunate events.
The Ministry of Public Works published a preventive guide on the occasion of the holidays.
