The Dominican Professional Winter Baseball Championship announces the Aguilas Cibaeñas will match the Toros del Este at the Francisco Micheli Ball Park in La Romana at 7:30pm. The Tigres del Licey will be home club in the game against the Leones del Escogido at the Quisqueya Ball Park in Santo Domingo starting 7:15pm.
The championship resumes after the Christmas and New Year holidays with the Tigres del Licey in the lead with a four wins and two losses mark. Next is the Leones del Escogido and Toros del Este with 3-3 standing. The Aguilas Cibaeñas are fourth with two wins and four losses.
During the second round of games of the winter ball championship, each team needs to play 18 games to qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs will be a series of nine games to decide who will represent the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Series to be hosted by Puerto Rico from 1 to 7 February 2020.
