The Chamber of Deputies named Juan Martínez Estrella to replace the late deputy, medical doctor Ines Bryan. Bryan died on 28 December 2019 of a heart attack.
Martínez Estrella is a lawyer and municipal president of the Social Christian Reformist Party of San Pedro de Macorís. The motion was approved during the Thursday, 9 January session of the Chamber of Deputies.
