
President Danilo Medina called for an extraordinary session of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies starting 15 January 2020. The President wants the legislators to decide on several pending bills. President Medina issued Decree 19-20 that details several bills that are still under consideration by the Legislative Branch.
These are: the public-private partnership bill; the bill modifying the surcharge for late payment to the Dominican Social Security System (DSSS), strengthens the Social Security Treasury (TSS) and the General Directorate of Information and Defense of the Affiliate (DIDA) and modifies the commission scheme applied by the Pension Fund Administrators (AFP); the bill on movable guarantees; the bill that creates the system of reciprocal guarantees; the bill on property extinction trials for the civil confiscation of illicit goods; and the bill on maritime trade, as well as any other bill that may be introduced in the legislative chambers, among others.
