
The European Union (EU) donated EUR 47.7 million (about RD$2.83 billion) to the Dominican government for implementing three public policy programs aimed at promoting institutional strengthening, transparency and democratic governance.
The head of the EU’s Regional Programmes Unit for Latin America and the Caribbean, Felice Zaccheo, made the announcement during his visit to the country, reported the Multilateral Cooperation Agency (Digecoom) of the Dominican Ministry of Economy (MEPyD).
Present for the signing of the donation were Ambassador Gianluca Grippa, head of the EU delegation in the Dominican Republic, and Ambassador Antonio Vargas Hernández, National Authorising Officer of the European Funds for Development and director of the Digecoom.
