Rafael Paz reaches out to Catholics and Christians

Running for senator for the National District for the ruling Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Rafael Paz has met with Christian church leaders and committed to back their stand on life and family. The large evangelic movements in the country share the firm stand against abortion in any form. Paz is appealing to these communities.

Pastor Ezequiel Molina Jr. recently called for Christians to not vote for his opponent, deputy Faride Raful. Raful is running for senator as the candidate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).

Paz seeks to take an advantage over Raful, who while a practicing Roman Catholic backs health groups that favor incorporating exceptions allowing abortion in the Penal Code revision. Raful insists that this does not mean she is in favor of abortion.
