
The Ministry of Education and the Dominican Public Teachers Association (ADP) signed an agreement whereby they commit to work to improve the quality of public education. The working arrangement was signed by Education Minister Antonio Peña Mirabal and Xiomara Guante, president of the ADP. The agreement addresses educational quality, departmental ordinances and orders, school maintenance and infrastructure, teacher job competitions, teacher dignity, social security, teacher assessments, mutual commitments and some issues that are still pending.
The commitment integrates family members represented by Associations of Parents and Friends of the School (APMAE) and all entities of society working to advance education. With the agreement, it also will endeavor so that as of 2020, the continuous training programs are effective.
