
Carolina Mejía who is running for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) nor Hugo Beras, who until Monday, 3 February, had been the mayor candidate for the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) showed up for the Santo Domingo Economic and Social Development Council (Codessd) debate. Only Bartolomé Pujals (Alianza Pais); Domingo Contreras, Dominican Liberation Party (PLD); Johnny Ventura, People’s Force (FP); and Michael Miguel Holguin (Partido Verde) participated in the televised and radio streamed event to talk about their priorities if elected mayor for the capital city.
During the “Santo Domingo Debate” the candidates debated their proposals on the topics of land and urban planning, urban mobility (transit), waste and solid waste management and citizen security.
The municipal election is scheduled for 16 February 2020.
