President Danilo Medina presided over the inauguration of the Fourth Meeting of Jail Authorities of the Americas under the Organization of American States. The event took place at the Ministry of Foreign Relations. Also present for the meetings was OAS secretary general Luis Almagro, Attorney General Jean Alain Rodriguez and Defense Minister Ruben Dario Paulino Sem and the director-general of the Police, Ney Aldrin Bautista.
Almagro congratulated the Dominican government for the initiative. The event addressed the humanization of prison systems.
